Thursday, March 19, Gardening Above Ground, East Haddam Senior Center. Master Gardener Jamie Burgess will demonstrate how to get the most from our raised beds and containers. Free and open to the public.
Friday, April 24, 10:30 to car pool, rain date Sun., April 26, Tour of O’Brien’s Nursery in Granby followed by lunch at Julien’s Farm Store. Guests are welcome.
Saturday, May 16, 8 am to 12 noon, Grange, Annual Plant and Bake Sale. This is our annual fund raiser and is an “all hands” event. Members provide flower and veggie packs from their greenhouses, and perennials from their own gardens.
Wednesday, June 17, rain date June 18, 10 am to car pool, Tour of Wickham Park, Manchester, followed by picnic lunch. Guests are welcome.
Wednesday, July 8, Smith Farms, East Haddam, followed by BYO lunch. Guests are welcome.
Thursday, Aug. 13, 7 pm, Senior Center. Flower Arranging, Tricks of the Trade, East Haddam Senior Center. Leah Van Ness from Montville Florist will demonstrate how to make beautiful flower arrangements from items found in your own garden or by the roadside. Free and open to the public.
Wednesday, Sep. 16, 4 pm, rain date Thurs., Sep. 17. Plant swap and social hour.
Wednesday, Oct. 21, 11 am., St. Stephen’s, Annual Meeting and Pot Luck Luncheon
Monday, Nov. 23, 11 am, East Haddam Grange. The Garden Club creates some 100 holiday floral arrangements to be given away at the Food Bank. Lunch on site follows, and guests are welcome to join the fun. Date TBD, 11 am. Holiday Luncheon. Members bring individual donations for the food and fuel banks. There is also a silent auction and gift swap.
